Information about HUNGARY Hungary is a delightful country combining the best of Eastern European culture and architecture with Western luxury. Hungary is situated in a basin between the Carpathian mountains, where the earth"s crust is particularly thin, and it is this phenomenon that allows thermal waters to rise. There are more than 1000 hot springs, and wherever you go in the country you will find a place to enjoy these healing waters. Hungary has long been a progressive country, even under communism, and they has become fully integrated with Europe since 2004.
